Bakehouse Occasions - Terms of service

Welcome to the Bakehouse Occasions website (the "Site"). These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our Site and the purchase of products and services from Bakehouse Occasions. By accessing our Site and placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

"We", "us", "our", and "Bakehouse Occasions" refer to the catering and events line of Bakehouse. "You" and "your" refer to you, the customer.

1. Ordering and Confirmation

  • Order Placement: Orders can be placed through the Bakehouse Occasions Site by selecting your desired items. An order constitutes an offer to purchase.
  • Order Confirmation: Your order is not confirmed until you have completed the checkout process and received an official order confirmation email from us. This email signifies our acceptance of your offer and the formation of a binding contract.
  • Lead Time: To ensure the highest quality, we require a minimum of 24 hours' notice for all orders. The daily cut-off time for next-day orders is 12:00 nn Hong Kong Time.
  • Product Availability: While we do our best to fulfill all confirmed orders, we reserve the right to cancel or modify orders due to unforeseen issues such as product unavailability, bad weather, or other uncontrollable factors. In such cases, you will be contacted to amend your order.

2. Pricing and Payment

  • Currency: All prices are listed and charged in Hong Kong Dollars (HKD).
  • Payment: Full payment must be made at the time of ordering through our accepted online payment methods. Your order will not be processed or confirmed until payment has been successfully received.
  • Accuracy: We strive to ensure all prices on our website are accurate. In the event of a pricing error, we will contact you to either reconfirm the order at the correct price or cancel the order. If we are unable to contact you, the order will be treated as cancelled.
  • Promotions and Discount Codes: Promotional offers and discount codes are subject to specific terms and may not be combined with other offers. Bakehouse Occasions reserves the right to modify or withdraw any promotion at any time without prior notice.

3. Delivery

  • Delivery Service: We offer delivery to most areas within Hong Kong. Delivery fees and available time slots will be specified during the checkout process. Remote area deliveries (Airport, Ma Wan, and Discovery Bay) are subject to a surcharge. Kindly send your order details to occasions@bakehouse.hk for further support.
  • Complimentary Delivery: Complimentary delivery is offered for single orders with a total value of HK$2,500 or more.
  • Delivery Conditions: You are responsible for providing a full and accurate delivery address and contact information. We will not be liable for delays or non-delivery resulting from incorrect information. Our delivery team will make every effort to deliver within the selected time slot, but delivery times are not guaranteed due to potential traffic, weather, or other unforeseen circumstances.
  • Receiving Orders: Please ensure someone is available at the delivery address to receive the order. If no one is present, our delivery partner will attempt to contact you. If we are unable to complete the delivery, the order will be returned, and no refund will be provided.
  • Hospital Deliveries: For deliveries to hospitals, our delivery staff are not permitted to deliver orders directly to ward areas. All hospital deliveries will be handed over at the hospital lobby. Our driver will contact the recipient by phone upon arrival to coordinate and confirm the precise hand-off point.
  • Hotel Deliveries: For deliveries to hotels, orders will be delivered to the concierge or reception area within the specified delivery window. Our drivers are not able to deliver orders directly to guest rooms. To ensure a smooth delivery, customers are required to provide the hotel name, room number and name of the registered guest when placing an order. It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure accuracy of this information and to notify the hotel staff in advance of the expected delivery. Bakehouse Occasions will not be liable for any delays or issues arising from incomplete or incorrect information provided.
  • Office Deliveries: For deliveries to certain office buildings (such as Charter House, Champion Tower, or HSBC Main Building), orders will be delivered to the building lobby, where our driver will meet the recipient within the specified delivery window. Due to parking limitations and floor access restrictions, our drivers are unable to deliver directly to office units. If you require a special arrangement for direct delivery to these office units, this can be organised for an additional fee—please contact our team at occasions@bakehouse.hk to discuss the details.

4. Cancellations, Changes, and Refunds

  • Order Cancellation: All confirmed and paid orders are final. Bakehouse Occasions does not accept cancellations once payment has been successfully processed.
  • Order Amendments: Requests for changes to confirmed orders must contact our team at occasions@bakehouse.hk prior to the daily cut-off time of 12:00 nn on the day before the scheduled delivery. While we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate such requests, Bakehouse Occasions does not guarantee the acceptance of any amendments.
  • Special Weather Exceptions: When severe weather is forecasted, Bakehouse Occasions may extend the order amendment deadline to 6:00 PM on the day before your scheduled delivery day. During this extended window, you may request to reschedule your order or receive a credit note. Because our pastry production requires advance stock planning, no further changes, cancellations, or refunds can be processed after this 6:00 PM deadline under any circumstances.

5. Food Safety and Allergens

  • Consumption: Our products are handcrafted with fresh ingredients and are intended for consumption on the day of delivery or pick-up to ensure the best quality and taste. We are not responsible for any degradation in quality due to improper storage or consumption after the recommended time.
  • Allergen Information: Please be aware that our products are prepared in a kitchen where common allergens such as nuts, gluten, dairy, and eggs are present. We cannot guarantee that any of our products are completely free from traces of these allergens. It is your responsibility to inform your guests of this risk. If you have a severe allergy, please contact us to discuss before placing an order.
  • Food Handling: Once the order is delivered or picked up, you are responsible for its safe handling and storage. Perishable items should not be left at room temperature for an extended period.

6. Limitation of Liability

  • General Limitation: To the fullest extent permitted by law, the total liability of Bakehouse Occasions for any claim arising out of your order, whether in contract or otherwise, is limited to the price paid for the order.
  • Indirect Damages: We shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental damages or for any loss of profit arising from your order.
  • Force Majeure: We are not liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations where such failure or delay results from any cause that is beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of nature, adverse weather conditions (e.g., Typhoon Signal No. 8 or higher, Black Rainstorm Warning), traffic conditions, or government restrictions.
